Marina will be speaking about the role of self advocacy for people with disabilities seeking employment. Marina’s original material on self-advocacy and the videos she has created for each of the Self Advocacy Learning modules that Elaine Belanger-Porter, Student Success Advisor, has developed for students with disabilities at Humber transitioning to work, provide a solid foundation for an innovative approach to learning.

The tremendous benefit of Humber’s Self Advocacy Learning program is in its design, practical, and deeply informed from the perspective of persons with disabilities; created within a paradigm that honours our lived experience. Thank you to Humber Polytechnic for supporting the opportunity to develop a much-needed set of tools that can be used and applied throughout the career trajectory to foster a mindset for success!

And thank you in advance to everyone who can be there - I’m deeply appreciative and look forward to your presence!

Marina
