Finding the Mother Tree, by Suzanne Simard is a wake- up call. Just in time, given the Climate Conference in Glasgow last week (October 31- November 12).
Her work shows that trees communicate, nourish their young and collaborate with other species to enhance the wellbeing of their forest community. I was amazed to learn that humans share a full 50% of our DNA with trees! And then I came across this image of a tree ring on the right, and a human fingerprint on the left...
