Now online at the AGO: my portrait of resilience! I completed this drawing of an old woman with clasped hands, when I was very young. As an artist, I loved drawing the delicate paper-thin folds and network of lines on the faces of old people. Then and now, age is beautiful to me. A life lived, challenges met - and the strength to be still and endure in the face of hardship, is worth celebrating. Let’s honour our elders and learn from their resilience.
